Portrait Class: Week 11

TIMED ACTIVITIES
Students painted 2 short poses after John demonstrated the procedure of quickly blocking in a portrait using color temperatures.  He did one before our first attempt and then another before our second.  During the first demonstration, John focused on color masses and the second he focused on the construction of the face.  He emphasized his procedure. 


 First Block in - 35 minutes:

I thought I had a good likeness, but now see how wide she looks by her eye.

Second Block in - ≈ 20 minutes, perhaps less:


Good start, but then I rushed....
